However, her episode 4 audition wasn’t the first time Sellars wowed audiences and judges in a Got Talent reality TV series. Pole dancer Kristy Sellars won Australia’s Got Talent Season 9 in 2019 before auditioning for AGT Season 17. After her grand finale performance to “Unsteady,” by X Ambassadors, she left the judges in tears. They called her “inspirational.”

“You bring power, and depth, and meaning to pole dancing,” Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger told Sellars.

In Sellars’ Instagram comments after Australia’s Got Talent finale aired, she shared the honor of being in the top four with all women performers. She also competed in Fantasy AGT: Battle of the Champions but did not advance past the semifinals.

After winning Australia’s Got Talent Season 19, pole dancer Kristy Sellars described her art in The Pole Dance podcast. She explained that she debuted her style of pole dancing at Pole Theatre Sydney in 2016. However, she began experimenting with the art in 2013. 

“I started playing around with the idea of combining projection with dance about six years ago,” Sellars explained in 2019. “I did try a few different ways to do it.”

Although she explored interactive pole dancing, where the dancer manipulates the projection behind them. However, Sellars found she could tell a story using a pre-recorded projection instead.

“I prefer to work on a pre-recorded version and train as much as a I can to line it all up to make it precisely timed to so it seems like it’s all interactive, but it’s actually not.”

AGT Season 17 pole dancer Kristy Sellars has three children — Rylie, Mason, and Ollie. At the time of Sellars’ win on Australia’s Got Talent in September 2019, Rylie was eight years old, Mason was two years old, and Ollie was only a baby. However, she told The Pole Dance Podcast that even the two-year-old already loved to watch her perform.

“If I can keep a two-year-old entertained for two minutes, then I can keep anyone entertained,” Sellars explained. 

In an interview for Australia’s Got Talent, Sellars explained how she manages to do it all.

“My friends tell me, ‘You do realize that having three kids is a full time job, let alone everything else that you’re doing.’ I’m like yes, I do realize that,” Sellars said in an interview she shared on Instagram. “Managing everything is definitely a struggle, but I think any mum would say that you have to be on top of everything.”
